Randolph, Mass. — May Institute is excited to welcome Ikechukwu Okonkwo, C.A., Chief Financial Officer of Altaeros, to its Board of Directors. Altaeros makes autonomous aerostats, helium-filled, payload-carrying balloons that can provide 24/7 aerial surveillance and communications. The company supports mission capabilities for Armed Forces, Homeland Security, and Emergency Response, and commercial industries through Network Resilience, Disaster Response, Telecom Rollouts, Industrial IoT, and more.
Mr. Okonkwo has more than 20 years of accounting, finance, and business process experience in high-technology companies. Prior to becoming CFO of Altaeros, he was Vice President of Finance and Accounting at Transmedics. In addition, he previously served in senior leadership roles at Kadant, Haemonetics, and Avid. He began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers. Mr. Okonkwo holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a master’s degree in Finance from the University of Benin, Nigeria.
In addition, May Institute is pleased to welcome back former longtime Board member and Chairman Stephen S. “Steve” Young to serve another term on May’s Board of Directors. Mr. Young is a well-known former trial lawyer and Senior Partner, now retired, from Holland & Knight, LLP’s Boston office.
During his legal career, Mr. Young represented clients in civil cases as both plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state trial and appellate courts. A certified mediator, he conducted private mediations and arbitrations and sat as a mediator and arbitrator through the American Arbitration Association’s Commercial Panel.
